Kari was born in Baltimore, Maryland and completed her undergraduate degree at the Maryland Institute College of Art. After a summer course spent painting in Italy and completing her undergraduate degree, she continued her scientific coursework and started working at the Johns Hopkins Center for Immunization Research. In 2016, Kari received her Master of Arts degree in Medical and Biological Illustration from the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. Since obtaining her degree, Kari is working as a Medical Illustrator at UWorld collaborating with content experts to create explanation images for USMLE, MCAT, and NCLEX test prep questions. In her spare time, she enjoys time with loved ones, cooking, and the outdoors.
