About

Kari, a Maryland native, earned her undergraduate degree from the Maryland Institute College of Art, where she cultivated a passion for alternative forms of communication. During her sophomore year, she sought ways to apply her artistic and visual communication skills, leading her to discover the field of medical illustration. In the summer of 2009, she completed an internship with a Medical Illustrator in the publishing department of Sinai Hospital’s Rubin Institute for Advanced Orthopedics. Recognizing medical illustration as the ideal fusion of her interests in art, visual communication, and science, she pursued additional scientific coursework at Towson University.
After completing her undergraduate degree, Kari continued her scientific studies while working at the Johns Hopkins Center for Immunization Research. In 2016, she earned a Master of Arts in Medical and Biological Illustration from the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine.
Since then, Kari has gained extensive experience as a product developer, excelling both as an individual contributor and in cross-functional management roles. She effectively drives and executes technically complex applications within the healthtech industry and remains committed to refining and optimizing communication strategies for the effective dissemination of knowledge.
